[Review] Geoffrey Sui Refillable Sticker Book (LG)

Hello everyone and welcome to another Pikakirakuzu article! It’s been a rough month for me so far and I got to thinkin’, “What would be an awesome way to take your mind off things?”

“write another review of course!”

Today I will be reviewing the Geoffrey Sui refillable sticker book that is available at https://shop.geoffreysiu.com/

Geoffrey Sui is an artist/ designer based out of Honolulu, Hawaii. Many of their products feature Pokemon or of their original characters like Adam & Steve, Sakura-kun, and more!

While this sticker book was my first purchase from Geoffrey, I have known about his store for a few years. His sticker books have always been popular online, and his product series ‘Gentlemon’ which includes pins, stickers, shaker key chains and more is always a stable amongst nerdy pin collectors.. To be frank, the reason I had never bought his products before is because they tend to be expensive. A large refillable sticker book costing 40 dollars, about twice as much as competitive brands. However, don’t be fooled, Geoffrey still succeeds in outshining the competition. I have always admired his creativity when it comes to his products. While most artists simply put their art on premade product templates manufactured by a vendor, Geoffrey’s products seem to be entirely unique. To be clear, there’s nothing wrong with using vendors such as Vograce or even companies like Redbubble to help you turn your artwork into merchandise. But there is something extra special when you are able to create ingenious products that break the mold from the standard. That is how I would describe his refillable sticker book. Lets get into it!

So, let’s start by talk about the book’s quality. I got the largest size of refillable sticker in the only design they had left available which is the ‘It’s My Trash Not Yours Racoon’ design. It is 7 inches wide, 10 inches tall, and prefilled with 45 sticker release sheets. When I received the book in the mail I was shocked at how nice the thick textured plastic cover feels between the fingers. Each page is generously coated in a silicone or wax material, allowing all sticker types to stick in the book with no issue. You may think “well, it’s sticker release paper, of course it’s going to work with stickers, duh!” Believe it or not, not all sticker release paper is made equal. depending on the amount and the type of coating, a sheet may not work as well as others. So in short, I think the quality of the book is very nice.

Next and undoubtedly the most important part; the usability of the book. The large Geoffrey Sui sticker books are 7’ in x10’ in, aroind a inch shy on both sides in comparison to a standard sheet of paper ( 8.5’ in x 11′ in,) allowing you to stick a generous amount of stickers to each page. I will say, I do feel there is a slight ‘learning curb’ to using the sticker book. The culprit is the plastic strip attached to the binding. This strip is there to not only give the book stability, but to also keep the openings of each ring facing the same way. With my book, it makes opening/closing in one direction more difficult than doing so in the other. This isn’t a serious issue, but it took me a few minutes to understand how to open the book properly without straining the book. Honestly, maybe I am just dumb when it comes to that kind of thing, haha. Each ring in the binding opens beautifully with minial resistance, and I did end up purchasing the binder opener Geoffrey has linked on his Linktr.ee to open them more quickly. When I originally ordered the book, I had the concern that it would be tedious to open and close each of the rings. However, each ring opens easily so you can open and unsnap multiple at a time. After using the opener tool it’s just a matter of squeezing the binding a few times to close them all. The book is very usable to say the least.

So, whats the conclusion? Out of the stickerbooks Ive made and bought, Geoffrey Sui’s refillable stickerbook comes out on top! If you’d like one, get one at his website at: https://shop.geoffreysiu.com/

Until next time ♡
